Tell us about your family: Am the oldest of 4 sisters, and have 2 daughters (married)
What are your passions in life? Music. As a “Spirited Woman”, a mother, a scientist, a singer/songwriter, I live every day with the belief in all life’s possibilities and reach out in many directions.
To nurture my children. To contribute to medical science with my research. To rescue animals. TO feed and clothe the needy.
To touch others through music.
“Reach” is the title track for this very special “Spirited Woman” compilation. I am motivated and inspired to create music for both live performance and recordings that enable me to “make a difference.” I am thrilled to find opportunities to donate my songs, my CDs, and my live performances to a wide array of benefits and worthy community events, raising funds and awareness locally and nationally. I also strive to find therapeutic and educational uses of my songs through schools, camps, faith-based programs, and even in care skilled care facilities.
And, of course, I don’t mind when my music actually brings me some commercial success! I’ve had numerous songs in TV, film and commercials. My catalog of music and roster of collaborators are extensive, and to date i’ve had seven commercially released CDs with two new upcoming releases in the wings. I have invested many years in my craft as a singer, songwriter, percussionist and front woman specializing in a unique fusion of pop, rock, folk & world music, lush vocals and intimate lyrical style as well as performing spiritual music for prayer and healing. I have 4 commercially released CDS and am currently in the studio completing my second solo release, and a third release with my band Imaginary Friends. For this compilation, “Reach,” I have drawn from my past work, that I feel best reflects the human spirit.
The songs I selected range from a lyrical expose rallying self-pride and striving for a better life, to the recognition of the unseen, spiritual influences that surround me. My title song, “Reach,” encourages the listener to reach out to each other and to life and embrace it
