Tonight, September 9, 2009, from 5 to 8 pm, Missoula’s new Northside Kettlehouse taproom at 313 N. 1st St W. (north of the railroad tracks) is hosting a benefit night for Zane Goicovich [GOY-ko-vitch], a three-year-old Missoula boy being evaluated for brain surgery in Denver. Zane is the son of Missoula small business owners Elaine Sheff and John Goicovich and the brother of five-year-old Gavin.
On Sept. 9, fifty cents of the price of every pint lifted will go to the Goicovich family’s expenses. Community U-Nite is a weekly fundraising night put on by Kettlehouse.
In 2007, when Zane was one, he suffered severe seizures that left him with epilepsy, sensory processing disorder, autism, and brain damage. Zane is resistant to epilepsy drugs. Doctors say he is a good candidate for the operation in Denver, which may cure his epilepsy.
Parking is available at the Northside taproom, though as always biking and walking are encouraged.
